The Departments of Earth and Atmospheric Science and Biology are searching for a candidate with demonstrated research expertise in terrestrial, ocean, or marine environments with strong credentials in space-based Earth remote sensing and Earth systems modeling. Candidates should have an established research program or a demonstrated potential for developing a new program at City College. Senior-level candidates are expected to have a strong history of research funding from federal agencies or other sources. The successful candidate will lend the needed intellectual breadth to coordinate existing talents within the departments and NOAA-CREST Center to build a new interdisciplinary dimension to a vigorously growing program.
The candidate will also be required to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching, including the establishment of new courses in his/her area of specialization that expand and strengthen our multi-disciplinary Earth systems/environmental engineering science programs, and help in the growth of our graduate programs. The successful candidate is expected to contribute significantly to NOAA-CREST research activities and initiatives, building strength in the areas of satellite remote sensing applications and field-based observations in marine, coastal, ocean, and/or terrestrial ecosystem science.
Position is open until filled, with review of applications to begin December 1st. To apply, please view the opening (Job ID 9287) at www.cuny.edu.
