Conservation Support Officer

The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) has been the voice for our seas for over 25 years; championing sustainable fisheries, clean seas and beaches and protection for marine wildlife. MCS engages with individuals, communities, industry and Governments to work towards solutions that will achieve our vision of Seas Fit for Life.

Our many successes and campaigns to date include the introduction of a Marine Act to better protect our seas and marine life, influencing sustainable seafood choices by major retailers and consumers through the Good Fish Guide and fishonline, involving thousands of people in Beachwatch to clean our beaches of litter and campaigning for marine reserves to create safe havens for wildlife and fish stocks to recover.

The role of Conservation Support Officer is an ideal opportunity for a keen individual who has a strong team ethic and a willingness to assist the conservation team deliver their programmes. This support will be carried out through data management and manipulation and administrative support.

The successful candidate will have experience of GIS, data entry and manipulation, good organisational and office skills and the ability to manage a varied workload under supervision or using their own initiative.
