Applications are invited for a Marine Ecologist position at the Marine Laboratory in Aberdeen. You will be involved in projects relating to ecosystem processes in support of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive.
You will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the scientific process from data collection, compilation and data analysis to the production of papers. You will collaborate with staff from other disciplines in Marine Scotland as well as other academic institutions.
Qualifications and experience: A BSc or equivalent degree related to the field of marine ecology is essential. A MSc/PhD or equivalent qualification in a subject related to marine science is preferred. You must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, very good numeracy skills and have experience of working with advanced analytical methods. A good knowledge of marine ecology and an ability to apply this knowledge, identifying and developing new procedures and techniques is required. You will have strong organisational skills and the ability to contribute to the process of publishing work in the scientific literature.
This is a permanent and pensionable appointment. New entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range.
