Emu Ltd is a leading Marine Survey, Consultancy and Laboratory specialist based in Hampshire providing professional services for developers and regulators involved with development projects in the marine environment including: geophysical, hydrographic, geotechnical, oceanographic, marine ecology, water quality and laboratory analysis services and data collection, analysis, interpretation and consultancy services.
A vacancy exists within our Marine department for a Geophysicist to collect, process and interpret geophysical data from sites throughout the UK waters and overseas.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of geophysical projects mainly in the UK but also overseas. Work will involve fieldwork on various vessels within the Emu fleet and office based duties at Emu’s headquarters, near Southampton in the UK. The principle systems that you will use in the field are shallow seismic profilers (boomer, pinger and mini air gun), high resolution sidescan sonars and magnetometers. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, ideally with a Masters degree in a related subject.
