You will provide support to the implementation of the Marine Protected Area (MPA) provisions of the Scottish Marine Bill and SNH’s marine surveillance and monitoring work programmes.
You must have an honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject e.g. Marine Biology, Marine Resource Management etc with relevant experience. You must also have a sound understanding of marine ecology, habitats and species of Scotland. You must be able to demonstrate expertise in two of the following three areas – benthic ecology, physical oceanography, and mobile species ecology with a sound understanding of biodiversity conservation legislation including existing MPAs. Finally you must have excellent organisational and analytical skills with an eye for detail and strong oral and written skills with a proven ability to manage the delivery of research contracts to schedule.
