The Crown Estate, valued at over £7 billion, manages a wide range of land and property across the United Kingdom. Every year we pay all of our surplus revenue to the UK Treasury for the benefit of the nation. Our activities are supported by our core values of commercialism, integrity and stewardship, which inform the way we behave and the actions we take to fulfil our responsibilities. Our marine estate includes ownership of around half of the UK’s foreshore and the majority of the seabed within the 12 nautical mile UK territorial limit.
In this role we will look to you to oversee our marine policy and consents advice activities in Scotland. You’ll have a particular focus on marine renewables. We will also expect you to engage with a range of relevant stakeholders to advocate and explain The Crown Estate’s marine activities in Scotland.
Key to your success will be a real understanding of offshore consenting and planning processes and in particular, how they apply to the offshore energy sector. Your relevant experience will have included working remotely and in matrix teams and you will have an appropriate post-graduate qualification and preferably an established network of contacts. As you will be tasked with building meaningful relationships with a range of stakeholders, including Government departments and agencies, we’ll be keen to see your good communications skills and confident and proactive approach to your work.
