£16,901- £18,810 Fixed term appointment for 3 years The Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) in Oban is seeking to appoint a Microbial Ecology Support Scientist to join our Microbial and Molecular Biology Department to support both science and commercial activity. You will be educated to at least degree level in a relevant biological or microbiological discipline. Ideally you will have experience of microscope based phytoplankton taxonomy and/or the analysis of chemical or micro-biological samples collected from the field or in the laboratory. Experience in preparing scientific reports would also be useful. The successful candidate will be involved in a range of projects, so an ability to work independently and good time management will be essential, as is the willingness to participate in boat or shore based field work away from the laboratory.
