Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate for research into the link between recent shifts in distributions and timing of marine organisms and shifts expected from climate change. This is part of a NERC-funded project ‘Shifting climate as a predictor for change in marine biodiversity at local, regional and global scales’. The PDRA will develop a programme of research designed to compare observed ecological changes with measures of shifts based on large datasets of environmental descriptors of past climates. Outcomes will be used to predict expected future ecological change, and to make recommendations to put climate change into conservation planning. The successful candidate should have a PhD in a relevant discipline, and preferably in understanding ecological responses to changing climate.
