The Institute of Aquaculture, School of Natural Sciences is offering a post-doctoral research assistant (PDRA) post to work with Dr. Herve Migaud on a Technology Strategy Board-funded project entitled ‘Production and implementation of farmed wrasse in the Scottish Salmon industry’. The post is offered as a fixed term, full-time appointment for 33 month to start 1 April 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The successful applicant will report to Dr. Herve Migaud and be responsible for collecting all of the data from the trials. He/she will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the project and help the PI to coordinate/manage the project. The post would be appropriate for individuals wishing to gain academic and industry experience before pursuing a career in Aquaculture. Trials will be carried out in a range of sites across Scotland including research and commercial facilities owned by the Institute of Aquaculture in Machrihanish (MERL and MMF) as well as independent facilities e.g. Ardtoe (Viking Fish Farms), Otterferry SeaFish Ltd. and commercial facilities at Marine Harvest Scotland Ltd. and Scottish SeaFarms Ltd.
