Project Manager for large-scale integrating European marine research project at the Geophysical Institute / Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research
A position as project manager is available at the Geophysical Institute in association with the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research. The position will be financed by the EU-Commission through the project CARBOCHANGE and the University of Bergen. The term of employment for this position is up to 24 months (depending on the start date of the employment). CARBOCHANGE (Changes in carbon uptake and emissions by oceans in a changing climate) is a key European climate related collaborative research project on marine carbon uptake involving 29 partners from Europe, Africa, and North America. The candidate will work as project manager of CARBOCHANGE. Activities include the efficient management of the scientific, administrative and financial aspects of the project, as well as communication between the partners in the consortium and the European Commission. Special emphasis is placed on outreach and dissemination of activities to the scientific community, the general public, and in particular policy makers in order to achieve a maximum possible impact of the project results.
Applicants should have achieved a Norwegian doctorate in oceanography, meteorology, physics, earth sciences, biology, applied mathematics or similar disciplines, or must have achieved equivalent education abroad.
