Research Lectureship in Marine Sedimentology

Applications are invited from candidates with proven track records of high quality research in marine sedimentology in coastal and shelf seas. Applications will be considered from specialists in coastal and marine sedimentary environments, sedimentary processes, &/or sediment transport.

Candidates should have a background in marine physical or earth science and experience of observational research preferably involving seagoing experience: SOS has a 40 m Research Vessel for shelf sea research and a fleet of small vessels for estuarine/coastal waters. We are keen to recruit a candidate with a track record in interdisciplinary research therefore candidates should have an interdisciplinary ethos, andan interest in collaborative research with specialists in oceanography and marine biology.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and deliver appropriate modules within our BSc and MSc teaching programmes, including the MSc Applied Marine Geosciences course. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Head of College, Professor Colin Jago, and support his ongoing research interests in fine particle dynamics and sediment transport and estuarine sedimentation.

The post will be based at the School of Ocean Sciences, situated on the shores of the MenaiStrait in Anglesey.

This is a four year fixed term post.
